Blood runs down their shirts,
But they can’t see.
The sunshine has left,
But they don’t notice.
No one notices,
That with pride and laughter,
Comes devastation and anger.
The wind whispers on our arms.
Chills run down our backs.
Tears stream down our eyes.
The empty lot lays empty.
Hopes are diminished.
We have lost.
