I am self taught, so if there are better ways to do it I really don't care. Also, know that it takes practice to do this. I've been doing eye manipulation for about a year, so for me its a piece of cake (if not the best you've seen). The first time I did it though, it came out looking like someone put on a purple colored contact.
Hi, thanks for the tutorial
I have a noob-question, though
I'm having trouble with step 3...I have the iris selected, but I'm unsure of how to "remove" everything else...should I use the "cut" option?

As long as you have the selection, just cut or press delete on your keyboard. I press delete but I don't know if it will work with any other version then my photoshop 6.0, lol.
Sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation.

Nice tutorial, although a tip, you could Ctrl+click the layer for the colored portion, give the selection like a 3px feather, Ctrl+shift+I which i believe inverts your selection, and then click the delete key, now deselect. This would slightly delete/blur the edges so that ya dont have to use the eraser tool to make it not look like a contact

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
